"When we first decided to open Plane Street Cafe in downtown Bethel, the vision was simple: great coffee, a few pastries, breakfast, and some lunch sandwiches.

But as we listened to our community, we realized Bethel needed more. It needed a place to gather.
A place where friends could meet for coffee, where families could share a meal, where coworkers could catch up, where celebrations could happen, and where neighbors could simply feel welcome.

We expanded our menu because people were looking for more options. We added the bar because our town deserved a place where people could come together in the evenings, too. Every decision we made was guided by one question: "What does our community need?" From the beginning, details mattered. We spent countless hours searching for the perfect coffee roaster because we believed the coffee should be something special. We cared about the atmosphere and the experience.

But more than anything, guest service mattered.

I've always believed that the guest comes first. In a world where that sometimes feels forgotten, I wanted Plane Street to be a place where people felt seen, appreciated, and cared for. A place where hospitality wasn't just something we talked about—it was something we lived every day.

And just as important, I wanted to surround myself with people who shared those values. People who care about others, take pride in their work, and understand that we're not just serving coffee, food, or drinks—we're serving our community.

Plane Street Cafe has become so much more than I ever imagined when we first unlocked the doors. And for that, I am grateful. Grateful for our team, grateful for our guests, and grateful for a community that continues to support local businesses and the people behind them."
